Rosie Benn is a transdisciplinary artist and researcher based in Vienna, who's work engages in environmental discourses and ecology. Her work with video, installation and performative interactions explore non-linear narratives, often in which humour evokes an embrace for strain and contradiction, making space for complex meanings. `What’s easier to train, a cat or a human?’ was her final MA work in Art and Science at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, 2020. The Lecture-Performance explored ethical paradoxes encountered when raising cats as a vegan. Part critical reflection, part fantasy, the work oscillated between the empirical and scientific, including inspiration from her on-site research within projects such as forest gardening, biocyclic agriculture and animal sanctuaries. Rosie has exhibited and worked in art and cultural mediation internationally.
